Large-holder activity is increasingly coinciding with XRP's most recent rally. According to recent data, major holders amassed approximately 1.54 billion XRP, roughly $2.2 billion at the time, in just 96 hours.
Transactions fuel the price
Separately, during the most recent rally, Santiment recorded 1,917 transactions worth at least $100,000, which is the highest whale-level transaction count in about a month. The distinction is important because high-value transactions by themselves do not prove purchase because they may indicate internal wallet movements, transfers, or sales.
But the price recovery and the reported accumulation data offer more proof that large-holder positioning has improved XRP's market structure. The price's reaction has been forceful. After recovering from roughly $1.28, XRP is currently trading between $1.60 and $1.62.
The token has also decisively broken the declining resistance line that governed price action from the late-August peak on the provided daily chart. Since XRP is currently trading above all of the major moving averages displayed, the breakout is technically significant.
Short-term results
The shorter average has risen to $1.40, while the 200-day average is currently at $1.36. As a result, there is a significant technical gap between the current price and the previous consolidation zone. There is more than just whale activity. During the rally, 3,647 new wallets were added to the XRP Ledger, and through September 22nd, net inflows into the XRP ETF had totaled about $1.73 billion.
$1.65 to $1.70 continues to be the immediate resistance. XRP has already demonstrated significant supply in this area by producing several upper wicks. The significant August high would disappear from the chart with a clean break above $1.70.
The first level to defend on the downside is now $1.50. The more significant breakout zone is represented below it by $1.40–$1.45. Although whale accumulation can increase demand and decrease the liquid supply, it does not ensure ongoing appreciation.
Rather than going back into distribution, the strongest confirmation for XRP would now come from sustaining the breakout while large-holder activity remains high.
