Hussein Zangana (Vet) in a recent X post shared highlights from the Korea Blockchain Week happening in Seoul from September 29 to October 1, 2026. The Korea Blockchain Week is Asia's largest blockchain event, and it kicked off on Tuesday, bringing together industry and technology professionals.
Vet's post spotlighted a session from the event where Ripple President Monica Long and Caroline D. Pham, acting CFTC Chair, discussed next steps for tokenization.
When asked if the majority of tokenized volume will be on private or public blockchains, the Ripple President responded, "public," while also mentioning that the benefits of private blockchains are coming to the XRP Ledger with confidential transfer (XLS-96) and permission delegation (XLS-75).
This narrative benefits the XRP Ledger, a decentralized public Layer 1 blockchain, as tokenized volume flows to public blockchains. Confidential transfers (XLS-96) allow institutional-grade privacy for Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs), while Permission Delegation allows accounts to delegate some permissions to other accounts.
As reported, Ripple President Monica Long will headline the XRP Seoul event scheduled for October 3, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Seoul alongside Ripple executives including SVP Markus Infanger, J.A. Akinyele, RippleX Head of Engineering; Christina Chan, Senior Director of Ecosystem Growth at Ripple; Tatsuya Kohrogi, Senior Ecosystem Growth Manager at Ripple, among others.
What's next for XRP?
Major use-case-enabling features are coming to the XRP Ledger in the coming weeks. Permission Delegation and Batch are expected to provide institutional-grade account management and trustless atomic transaction execution on the XRPL.
Batch, alongside its fix upgrade, eyes a mainnet activation on October 9, while Permission Delegation is expected to launch on October 8, 2026, provided they sustain above 80% support for the two-week activation window.
In recent news, CSD BR, a financial market infrastructure with more than BRL 22 trillion in registered assets, announced the first phase of a strategic partnership with Ripple. This initiative marks a new step in the evolution of asset tokenization in Brazil.
Ripple Global Partner Success Lead Luke Judges says the integration is a big win for the XRP Ledger and that the first issuance under the initiative is expected to bring about $15 billion of 'represented' market cap on XRPL.
