The XRP Seoul event is happening now at the Grand Hyatt Seoul with more than 5,500 attendees. One of the major highlights of the event was Ripple President Monica Long's discussion about how financial institutions are moving on-chain, using XRPL for collateral mobility, tokenized assets, and payment infrastructure.
The panel was moderated by Christina Chan, Senior Director of Ecosystem Growth at Ripple, on how Ripple is bringing XRP utility to institutional finance.
The XRPSeoul2026 X account posted key takeaways from the much-anticipated fireside chat with the Ripple President, including institutional shift and capital market use cases, building institutional-grade rails on XRPL and ecosystem growth, and predictions for the future.
Regulatory clarity is propelling financial institutions from experimenting with blockchain to deploying on-chain infrastructure, with an emphasis on 24/7 collateral mobility through tokenized money market funds, treasury-backed repos, and cross-border payments enabled by stablecoins.
To meet enterprise requirements, Ripple is expanding XRPL's capability stack with permissioned privacy controls, native yield and lending protocols using XRP/RLUSD, and decentralized exchange (DEX) payment integration handled directly by Ripple to reduce customer complexity.
XRP Ledger aims to achieve exponential growth over the next year through regional incubators such as the Korea Financial Innovation Program and partnerships with top-tier institutions. It is predicted that tokenized real-world assets (RWA) will grow from $6 billion to $30 billion and AI agent transactions from 10 million to 100 million.
What's next for XRP
In another part of the event, Ripple's Senior Director of Engineering, Ayo Akinyele, gave a presentation on what is being built into the XRP Ledger to support the next generation of developers, institutions, and users.
Complete on-chain transparency has historically been a barrier for traditional finance, and to solve this, the XRP Ledger is introducing "confidential transfers" powered by Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs).
AI agents are now driving massive network volume, recently crossing 11 million transactions on the XRPL. To support this rapid growth, Ripple is developing purpose-built agent infrastructure, including verifiable identities, strict execution safeguards (permissions and spending rules), and smart wallets capable of holding XRP and stablecoins with fast 3–5 second settlement.
