Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) surged after CME Group announced plans to launch regulated futures contracts for both assets, culminating in a weekly gain of over 63% for each.
In a September 22 X post, leading derivatives marketplace CME informed the crypto community to get ready to trade new larger- and micro-sized Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures.
CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, today announced that it will launch Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures on October 19, pending regulatory review.
The latest expansion of CME Group's cryptocurrency suite responds to strong client demand for institutional-grade risk management tools across high-liquidity altcoin markets.
Market participants will be able to trade both larger- and micro-sized contracts of Bitcoin Cash futures (250 BCH) and Micro Bitcoin Cash futures (25 BCH); Uniswap futures (10,000 UNI) and Micro Uniswap futures (1,000 UNI).
The new contracts further expand CME Group's product suite, which includes Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui futures.
Bitcoin Cash, Uniswap bulls unleashed
At the time of writing, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) was up 30% in the last 24 hours to $347 as its price resolved higher after a sharp surge on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
BCH started rising from a low of $213 on September 16 to rise above the daily MA 50 at $241. A brief pause created a bullish pennant which later resolved into a breakout above the daily MA 200 at $316 following Tuesday's surge. The rise reached $366 early Wednesday, with Bitcoin Cash set to mark its third straight day of gains.
Uniswap broadly began to rise in mid-August 2026 from a low of $3.16 following a major golden cross formation on its price chart. The rally gained momentum after the SEC opened the door to compliant trading on Uniswap v4, validating the AMM model for regulated securities.
On September 17, 2026, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued what it calls the "Innovation Exemption," a historic five-year conditional order allowing eligible platforms to trade tokenized National Market System (NMS) stocks through permissioned AMM liquidity pools.
Analysts pointed to this as a short- to medium-term catalyst for Uniswap. Recent buying pressure, as well as the CME Group listing, boosted the price in the last 24 hours. According to Lookonchain, whales continue to buy Uniswap: a newly created wallet, '0xEFC4,' bought 269,477 UNI worth $2.84 million, while another, '0xf415,' bought another 138,442 UNI worth $1.23 million.
At the time of writing, Uniswap traded up 14% in the last 24 hours to $9.94, reaching a high of $10.93 early Wednesday following three straight days of increases.
