The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has recorded a tremendous surge in payment activity, with transaction volume skyrocketing by 2,633.3% during the last 24 hours. The dramatic increase signals a sharp recovery in network activity, while XRP struggles to regain bullish momentum in the cryptocurrency market.

According to XRP Ledger data, payment volume has climbed to about 137.7 million XRP, representing a tremendous increase from the previous day's activity. The unexpected spike highlights renewed activity across the network, following a period of extremely subdued transactions.

XRP Ledger Activity Experiences Massive Rebound

The current figures reveal a considerable divergence between current payment activity and recent network trends. Despite the remarkable 2,633.3% daily increase, XRP Ledger's current payment volume remains under its 30-day average of about 496 million XRP. Historical data also indicates that the network previously recorded an all-time payment volume high of approximately 7 billion XRP.

Throughout the past year, XRPL payment activity has experienced significant volatility, with several notable spikes exceeding 1 billion XRP. These fluctuations suggest that sudden increases in payment volume are not unprecedented, even though the current percentage recovery remains particularly striking.

Importantly, increased payment volume does not necessarily indicate growing investor demand. Large transfers between accounts, exchange-related movements, and institutional settlement activity can all contribute to significant fluctuations.

XRP Price Faces Technical Pressure Despite Network Recovery

Interestingly, the resurgence in payment activity has not translated into an immediate recovery in XRP's market valuation. TradingView data from October 26 indicates XRP trading near $1.2879, following a period of sustained selling pressure. The cryptocurrency remains under several crucial moving averages, suggesting that bearish momentum continues to dominate its short-term technical structure.

After reaching about $1.58 during September's rally, XRP eventually reversed direction, dropping below several key support levels. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) also remains under the neutral 50 threshold, indicating extremely weak buying momentum.
