The crypto market has demonstrated resilience to technical shocks. The publication of a report on the prevention of the largest technical crisis in the industry's history, which threatened $94 billion in XRP market capitalization, did not trigger panic over the weekend.

Instead of chaotic sell-offs, the spot market held local price levels, absorbing the negative news without significant price losses.

The market reaction to potentially dangerous news during Sunday's trading remained muted. The XRP/USD pair is trading around $1.388, with daily fluctuations within 1% as per TradingView. Local attempts to push prices lower following the disclosure of the bug quickly gave way to sideways movement.

The broad weekly chart (1W) clearly shows the boundaries of the current range. XRP continues to find support along an ascending trendline running through the May–August lows. The week's local drop toward $1.32 was quickly bought up, forming a long lower candle wick.

Prices remain above long-term moving averages despite external pressure from Bitcoin's correction to $80,000–$83,000 and a rise in the yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds to 5.345%.

Anatomy of the "near-exploit": What exactly happened behind the scenes at XRP

The absence of panic can be explained by the fact that the vulnerability was eliminated before its public disclosure. A report released by Veria Labs on Sunday revealed details of a bug in the rippled codebase that had existed since 2015.

The integer overflow bug could theoretically have allowed 18 trillion XRP to be issued in a single transaction — 184 times the network's entire fixed supply.

The crisis was resolved through a swift, confidential process. Veria's AI agent discovered the flaw on September 21, after which the XRPL team confirmed it through its Bug Bounty program and paid a record $250,000 reward.

By September 25, RippleX engineers had deployed the emergency xrpld 3.4.1 update. To get ahead of hackers, the network bypassed its two-week validator voting process for the first time in 10 years. No exploitation of the vulnerability on the mainnet was recorded.

Price action has confirmed support in the $1.32–$1.37 zone, which the spot market has held over recent sessions. The main technical obstacle to an upward move remains the $1.50–$1.70 resistance zone, where previous local highs on the weekly chart are concentrated.

Ahead of the traditional markets opening on Monday, the asset continues to trade within a narrow weekend range.
